Our Exciting Night in the ER

I got a great start to my morning yesterday...I was up and showered and ready and the little man was ready all by 10:00 am! (For anyone that knows us, that's a HUGE accomplishment!) I went through all my class supplies to make sure I had everything ready for this month. I was feeling really on the ball. I have a few more sheets of paper that I need to pick up and some instructions I need to photocopy at the store, and I was planning to start cutting class kits yesterday. Yet, for some reason I started feeling crappy and didn't want to leave the house. So, I sat on the couch and watched a movie with the little man. By the time the movie was half over, I had excruciating pain in my side. This usually happens when I get a kidney infection. But, last night it kept getting worse and worse, and by 7pm, we decided to take a trip to the ER to make sure I wasn't dying. I ended up having a severe infection and needed antibiotics and fluids through an IV. So, we sat in a room for 4 hours last night while I got pumped full of stuff. There were only two normal magazines in the room, so we perused those for an hour or so, but we were SO bored...and then, the entertainment showed up. They put a young girl (maybe 20) in the room next to us that had slipped on some ice and came in the make sure that she hadn't broken a tail bone. And, normally I'm a very sympathetic person, but this girl was slightly crazy and extremely whiney. About every 2 minutes she'd say, "I think someone forgot that we are here..." Finally after two hours of her whimpers, the doctor finally came in and told her nothing was broken. And, of course, this answer was definitely not good enough, so she turns to him and says, "But it hurts." The doctor had already had about enough of her and finally turns around and says, "Yeah, you fell on your butt...of course it's gonna hurt, but nothing is broken. Go home and take a bath. Oh, and don't fill it too full, you don't want to fall asleep and drown. We don't want to see you back here dead tomorrow." My poor husband was trying so hard to keep his composure as he was falling off his chair with silent laughter. This girl had been whining about her broken bones for 2 hours and it was like all the sudden she figured if it wasn't broken she wasn't going to get much sympathy and all the sudden, she was just fine. Go figure. But, it still gave us a good hour of entertainment. Anyway, long story short, I am fine now. I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic they put in my IV, so they shot a huge dose of benedryll in there and within about 3 minutes the room was spinning and in about 4, I was asleep. I didn't wake up until 11 this afternoon. Best sleep I've had in a long time! I'm still a little woozy today and having a hard time staying awake, but I'll be fine! And, it was almost worth the $3000 trip to hear a doctor make fun of someone! :)

My Embellishment Storage

Ebellishment_storage I use these Plano tackle boxes. I bought them at Walmart for abuot $10.00 a piece. I have tried so many ways to organize my ebellishments and this has worked the very best. I have to store all my stuff in our bedroom, since we live in a tiny apartment, so these work great. They store WAY more than you'd ever think! I keep the stuff I use most in the top sections and the bottom compartments are quite deep so I can store bigger embellishments down there.

I found a website where you can purchase them online.

Some Random Fun

I've been a little bored during Jack's naptime lately, and I found this great website. If you haven't already been there, you need to visit www.meez.com You can make a really cool moving avatar. My hubby and I spent hours on the website the other night. My hubby's is way more cool than mine. It looks just like him! So funny! Oh, and they are totally free to make!

My hat's in the ring

Funny_hat So, thanks to Amber, I've decided to put together an entry for this year's CK Hall of Fame. I've decided since I'm now a full-time stay-at-home mom, I need to have some real "me time." So, this is my excuse! I've decided that since 1) I've never entered a scrapbook contest, 2) Never submitted pages for publications and 3) I never get time to scrapbook my own stuff, that I need to do this! So, if you don't hear from me until February I've either died or I'm at my scrap table working on my HoF entry! (Or, I just haven't had 5 minutes to update my blog...I'm not exactly good at adding regular updates to my blog yet...maybe after this HoF thing, I'll try to make myself add a project or page every week...another good excuse to scrapbook for myself!!!)

My AMM Blog Entry & A Contest!

Well, since it's January and a time to make a long list of things we'd like to do better in 2008, I'm going to join Tamara and Amber, and share one of my goals for the year. Mine is to be more organized, especially when it comes to my scrapbook stuff! Mine has created a disaster in almost every room in our tiny apartment! And, as much as I'd love to share tons of great organizing tips in this post, I really don't have any! (It's my resolution for a reason!)  But, I will share a project I made this morning using stuff I had lying around! (The other half of my goal for the year: use up the stuff I've been collecting for the past ten years!) As I was flipping through my copy of Creating Keepsake’s January issue (if you haven't flipped through it yet, you really should. There are some AWESOME ideas in it), I found the CUTEST project by Becky Higgins that I just had to scraplift. And guess what…everything for this project was in my stash at home, and I got to use some of my random chipboard letters I had lying around! (Becky Higgins made hers from all her leftover sticker letters. But, since I had more chipboard, I chose to use those and I was able to paint them to match my little guy's room!) Now, I just need to find a cute frame to hang it in! And, if you really want to create this project and don't have leftover sticker letters or chipboard, it would be really cute to make using die-cut letters, which of course, you can find at All My Memories!

Abc_wall_hanging_aChallenge : Make a project using ONLY things you already have at home. Post a link to them on my blog, and you could win a prize pack with some fun organization products!

Supplies Used: White Bazzill (Bazzill), Chipboard Letters, Mailbox Metal Letters, Velvet Stickers, Chipboard Shapes, Tag Rims, and Silver Mini Brads (Making Memories), Chipboard Letters (Basic Grey, Scenic Route and Heidi Swapp), Paint (Making Memories and Delta Ceramcoat), Frame (Provo Craft)

Yay for Pam!
